Of all porridge adventures 👣

 Aone porridge house @ NEX

So recently we spotted this (which is relatively new) and we decided to give it a try.
I saw this shop at J8 as well....
Okay so basically, they sell all sorts of porridge and noodles (that are common)

This is their ting zai porridge (if I never remember it wrongly), which contains peanuts, cuttlefish, little bits of dried scallop.

And we ordered this crab meat hor fun to share too! I can taste some shreds of crab meat so I'm happy but there's this weird taste to hor fun (not like your usual kind)
We're guessing they added some kind of wine (think shao xing jiu/hua diao jiu) into it or something

And the total meal cost up to $22, super regretful because we didn't even finish both of our dishes.

Some porridge place at chinatown which serves tze char too!

We ordered an onion omelette and a 排骨王 (pork ribs) to go along with our porridge! The egg is super yummy!! As long as the pork ribs, super tender, easy to chew and no bones. (Just that the sauce is abit too much)

We got an extra serving of you tiao as well (which I don't fancy because it's not the hot crispy kind I like, it's cold) and plain porridge for the guy and century egg porridge for me!!!
It is not bad and there are a lot of locals dining at the place, super crowded!

And we only spent < $20 for so much food as compared to Aone!!

Zhen zhen porridge @ Maxwell FC

There's a long queue so we decided to try it (because I stupidly went to maxwell on a monday and tian tian chicken rice is closed!!!)
Okay, in conclusion, there's lots of chai pu (preserved salty radish) and I don't like it and I didn't even finish half of my bowl (the serving is huge too)
I ordered a century egg porridge (as usual!!!) and the guy went for a sliced fish porridge which he regretted because there's a lot of fish slices (and he doesn't take them so it's for me!!! 😄😄) and there are lots of ginger.

🍴🍝🍱🍲🍜

Hello!! I'm blogging on my new laptop so I have a range of 😄 ! hehe just being swaku (like a frog in the well)
I'm here to talk about imperial treasure again! Haha because my bf loves it and I think it's gonna replace din tai fung's position in his tummy

We ordered like 3 cups of milk tea, it's not really fantastic but I don't know why I like it.
So you must order their congee when you're here!! I ordered the prawn ball this time round, (I will usually order century egg but my bf hates it and he says it destroy the taste of the porridge) and I don't like the prawn balls. :( It's not like meatball or fish ball, it's just prawn, curled like a ball LOL. I don't like it.

Being the adventurous us, and almost every table ordered their noodles (we're at their congee and noodle house btw) so we ordered their noodles too! As usual, carbs for him, meat for me!
I ordered the roasted duck one where I can have the roast duck!! Omg I swear it's super yummy, the meat is tender and the skin is slightly crispy! But it's super sinful 😪 the oil was oozing out...
And my bf loves the noodle too! He said the sauce made it yummy and he ordered another plate (plain noodles)
The soup that came along was quite nice! Haha according to my bf, it is boiled with shrimp.

While we were ordering, we contemplated whether to order this, (Chee cheong fun with dough fritters) because we had a bad one at canton paradise, where the dough fritters were very hard and had this oil taste to it.
And we didn't regret it! Among the 9 slices, I had 2 and the rest were gulped down by my bf!!!
Luckily the 2 sauces (the red and yellow one) I hate the most was separated from the ccf *phew*

And then I ordered this steamed yam cake, hmm it has lots of yam chunks but it is lacking of a certain taste that I like, well I think it depends on personal preference. (AND I HATE THE PARSLEY ON TOP OF IT!!!)
Oh and look at the 2 bowls of soup that came along with the noodles haha!
Abrupt ending but bye!!

Razzi view on must have:
Century egg and lean meat congee ❤❤❤❤❤
Roasted duck noodles ❤❤❤❤❤
Iced milk tea ❤❤❤

Cafe hopping

 Lola's Cafe

It's so exciting to have more cafes opening along the purple line, so much more accessible!!
So my girls and I decided to cafe hop and tada!!

We have never tried egg benedict before so this is our very first attempt! It was quite yummy to us but we really have no idea how is egg ben supposed to taste like hahaha!
The salad is good because there's dressing drizzled over it (unlike some places where their salad is just PLAIN)

We ordered 2 mains to share and it was already quite filling! The place is quite crowded so maybe you should do a reservation before you head down?
The cheese mushroom toast is yummy! Taste somewhat like pizza but the bread is definitely softer than those pizza's crust.

Hatter's Street

p.s both Lola's and Hatter's are located at kovan!
Hatter's has a alice in wonderland theme, so the decorations are quite pretty!!

Since we were quite full from our mains, we only ordered a white chocolate brownie, red velvet cake and a  iced matcha latte to share!
The white chocolate brownie is not bad, it is not overly sweet and rich in chocolate taste.
But the red velvet cake is a disappointment, lacking of cream cheese.
The iced matcha latte is okay.
I wanted to try the matcha cake so badly but it was not available!!  And they don't serve coffee drinks here, just many different types of tea.

Wimbly Lu

So I've been wanting to come to this place for a very long time and I finally did!! This place serves the best waffles in town as proclaimed by everyone on instagram so I'm really really delighted when we're coming here!
By the way, the location is quite inaccessible.... but good food will make up for that.

Cafe latte

Iced mocha (which was good because it's rich in taste and I think it's better than some coffee joints) and affogato (which is just a shot of espresso and a scoop of ice cream)
So basically, we have no idea what's affogato and after googling, my friend still decided to order it. Hahahahahahaha! It was bitter and tiny. See?? Speak about being adventurous when you're on a food hunt.

And the waffles!! We ordered salted caramel ice cream to go with it and chocolate sauce drizzled over!
To be honest, me and my friend agreed that the salted caramel was more salty as compared to other places that serve salted caramel ice cream as well. But the waffle is crispy on the outside and soft inside!! Yum.
I will definitely go back there and try their tiramisu and other food as well!!!

Working Title

I wanted to try I Am cafe (at haji lane) but I chanced upon working title so I decided to try.... but I really regretted my choice.....

Iced Mocha that was too bitter and a bit diluted, ice cream cookie which is the only redemption (it's not homemade btw)

And this earl grey cake which is totally bad. First of all, it's super dry and crumbly. Next, the frosting you see on the cake is those old school butter cakes kind of frosting!! Omg blergh, no offense but I don't like it. So we scraped off the frosting and finished the cake... which is not decent at all. Lastly, the cake doesn't taste a single bit like earl grey.

And then we ordered a eggs and toast, which is bad. Look at the salad without any dressing. And the eggs that were burnt. And the bread that is plain.
And I paid $26 for the 4 items, which were unsatisfactory. There were people at the cafe though, maybe we ordered the wrong things on the menu but I don't think I'm going back anymore.

A day in my life when I'm out with the bf

On monday, it was a journey to the west! Ichiban boshi for lunch with the boy!

The chawanmushi (which is included in the set I ordered) has mushrooms, crab stick and a piece of chicken inside! It was quite yummy because there's taste in it unlike some places where it is completely tasteless.

He ordered a don because he know I can't finish my food!! He said it is nicer than watami's haha.
But the miso soup wasn't as good as the one in itacho!

My must order: salmon mentaiyaki and unagi!!
The unagi didn't taste like how I wanted it to be :(

Tada, this is my set! Chicken salad, salmon mentaiyaki, miso soup, mini bowl of black pork don, lemon, tofu and chawanmushi! It cost $22.90++
I like the salad but I can't finish it ><

And then we went over to westgate and had this rosa gelato!! Pretty but impractical hahaha, it took the guy quite sometime to carve it and I felt bad LOL
I had the coffee and tiramisu! The tiramisu is sweet and I like it!

And then we went to swee choon to have our dinner, wasn't too hungry so only ordered some food.
My boy is my gps because I can't read the map for nuts!! (even with all the navigation and stuff I will just end up lost LOL)

Har gau and siew mai my favourite!! I wanted to eat the coconut jelly but it was not available because they are closed on tuesday and the guy said they didn't have time to make it. WHY???

Bao today// 包今天

It's already the first of march today!! (That means school is opening for me soon)
Gosh, time is seriously passing way too fast.
So today's post will be about bao today!! At somerset 313!
This is an affordable dimsum place where the food is just average, good enough to satisfy any dimsum cravings.

So I went on 2 separate occasions and I'm just gonna combine both of them
The iced milk tea is bad!!! Don't order.
半个包/half a bun and kou rong bao are quite nice! (If my memory didn't fail me)
The liu sha bao here is not bad too! The taste is not very strong and overwhelming, just the way I like it.

Don't order the curry chicken and polo bun. Both items are just plain average, for the price you can get better food outside. The polo bun just taste like any normal bread with butter?!?! I think yakun butter toast is nicer :P

I think these two items were not bad.. I think
Har gau and scallop (?) dumpling

I murdered the liu sha bao.
