Aone porridge house @ NEX
So recently we spotted this (which is relatively new) and we decided to give it a try.
I saw this shop at J8 as well....
Okay so basically, they sell all sorts of porridge and noodles (that are common)
This is their ting zai porridge (if I never remember it wrongly), which contains peanuts, cuttlefish, little bits of dried scallop.
And we ordered this crab meat hor fun to share too! I can taste some shreds of crab meat so I'm happy but there's this weird taste to hor fun (not like your usual kind)
We're guessing they added some kind of wine (think shao xing jiu/hua diao jiu) into it or something
And the total meal cost up to $22, super regretful because we didn't even finish both of our dishes.
Some porridge place at chinatown which serves tze char too!
We ordered an onion omelette and a 排骨王 (pork ribs) to go along with our porridge! The egg is super yummy!! As long as the pork ribs, super tender, easy to chew and no bones. (Just that the sauce is abit too much)
We got an extra serving of you tiao as well (which I don't fancy because it's not the hot crispy kind I like, it's cold) and plain porridge for the guy and century egg porridge for me!!!
It is not bad and there are a lot of locals dining at the place, super crowded!
And we only spent < $20 for so much food as compared to Aone!!
Zhen zhen porridge @ Maxwell FC
There's a long queue so we decided to try it (because I stupidly went to maxwell on a monday and tian tian chicken rice is closed!!!)
Okay, in conclusion, there's lots of chai pu (preserved salty radish) and I don't like it and I didn't even finish half of my bowl (the serving is huge too)
I ordered a century egg porridge (as usual!!!) and the guy went for a sliced fish porridge which he regretted because there's a lot of fish slices (and he doesn't take them so it's for me!!! 😄😄) and there are lots of ginger.
